Full Moon WesakI didn’t know the Moon well when I was young.

It wasn’t until I was much older that I began learning about the magic of the Moon, about the gods & goddesses associated with the Moon, about the seasons and the cycles, both embodied and on the earth itself.

Honey Moons. Strawberry Moons. Hunter’s Moons. Super Moons.

This July 19, we have a Buck Moon. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, this was a potent moon when the bucks would grow their antlers.

So what are you growing, my loves?

What antlers want to burst forth and make you a warrior? How can you celebrate the fullness of YOU this month? The fullness of what you are growing?

How can you let the Moon love you?

For starters, let YOU love you.
Let yourself create a small pause or celebration to honor the fullness in your life at this moment: the growth, the love, the transformation. <3

Build YOURSELF an altar. Draw yourself a bath. Make a tea ceremony and sip as you gaze towards the Sky.

Notice all the ways you are magic — and write them down.

Lay your stones out and let them soak up the rays of Moonlight.

Story: when I was a kid, I had a white bunny with red eyes. I named her Moonlight. I remember telling the other 6 or 7-year-olds that my bunny’s name was Moonlight, and so many of them asked if she was Black like the night sky? I would say no, she’s white, like the Moonlight. And they didn’t get it.

And to this day, I think there are so many people who don’t get the Moon. Who don’t see her glow. Who don’t let her light bathe them, with all her magic.

But I promise you, your Ancestors honored that glow.

And you can too. For all the ways it’s within you, and all the ways the brightness shines down on you.

Love you all,
